I got an idea to harness the oil spill -> create large circular current in a spiral going in the directing of the water in a flushnig toilet and then in the eye of the funnel suck up the oil while they cap the well. May they figure something out fast!
start way out so that the circle of ships encompasses the whole slick with a christmas ship type line up of ships that go in a circle opposite the natural swirl
the propellers create the current going in the natural direction. get volunteer boats and ships to do this with the coast guard directing and fueling the ships. that's what I'd try.get a physisist to calculate the best speed and area that calculates the lay of the currents that are naturally accuring. create a vortex to work within. giving the corp more time to cap the spill.
